Chloe's Treats was started with the mission of creating a healthy and nutritious treat for our dog Chloe. What started as an experiment baking with cricket protein soon turned into a labor of love when our friends asked for treats for their own dogs. Dogs love the taste and we love that they not only get a great source of protein but also something environmentally sustainable that is rich in fiber and nutrients. While all of our treats may not contain cricket, they all do share the same focus on ingredients that serve a purpose for our furry friends.
Why we started with Crickets: Crickets are one of the most sustainable sources of protein. They require minimal water, feed, and space, reproduce quickly, and produce virtually no methane. In general, crickets provide a great source of protein, iron, calcium, B12, and more. As a complete source of protein they contain essential amino acids such as leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylaline, threonine, and valine. The benefits of these BCAAS include various functions related to energy production during and after activity/exercise, immune system support, and prevention of lean muscle loss as well as promoting healthy body fat level.
Our Evolution: Expanding into hemp just made sense to us since it is one of the most sustainable crops. Hemp can grow in a variety of climates and soil types, it grows tightly spaced decreasing land use, has a fast growing rate, improves soil health allowing farmers to grow food crops immediately after a hemp harvest without a fallow period, it is resistant to most pests obviating the need for most pesticides, thrives on less water than most crops, and is a natural way to clean up soil pollution. And those are just the environmental benefits! The benefits to your pets is its naturally ability to reduce anxiety, decrease inflammation, and help with overall wellbeing.
Think Different: As we continue to grow our pet products we look to created options that are familiar to you yet geared toward our pets. With this in mind, our treats will seek to be all-natural and use simple ingredients yet be innovative. Our pets, just like us should like what they eat but at the same time get the nutrition they need to stay active throughout their life.

We started baking out of our love for Chloe. We wanted to provide her with a healthy treat option full of protein and micronutrients. We continue to bake all our treats with love from our kitchen to your home.
Crickets - While it is just gaining traction in the US, edible insects are not a new concept throughout the world. We chose crickets as the base of our product because of their exceptional nutrition profile. Crickets are a good source of protein and healthy fats, and provide micronutrients such as iron, calcium, and B-Vitamins. As a complete protein source they contain all the essential amino acids. We also love the sustainability story of crickets. Crickets are one of the most sustainable sources of protein producing less greenhouse gases and requiring minimal water, feed, and space. With all the nutrition and environmental benefits, crickets just make sense. They are a sustainable protein source that is good for you, good for the environment, and good for your pet.
Cannabinoids(CBDs) - Though CBDs can be a controversial subject, being derived from hemp as opposed to marijuana, our products contain virtually no THC. With this, hemp is higher in CBD, the substance that provides the therapeutic effect. Studies show that cannabinoids can have anti-inflammatory effects, and can help with pain, seizures, muscle spasms, skin conditions, appetite stimulation, aggression, anxiety and neurological disorders, and digestive issues. Coupling this with the fact that Hemp is a sustainable crop, and you have an awesome ingredient for your pet health.
